Look what we did yesterday.

Today E and I made play dough.. it was fun.  Here is the link with some recipes if you are interested.

it got thick quickly and was hard to stir..

so we turned it out of the pan and kneaded it

I should add that the playdough quickly became "rainbow" playdough.  It is now one color.

Daily happenings

The other day we did a Day of the week craft.  It started with a catipilar, went through the days of the week, and ended in a butterfly.  Sounds like the hungry catipilar doesn't it.  Well it is loosely following that book (since i don't have the book) 

we started by making a catipilar it was a print out, first the boys colored the numbered circles the color they where told to, then we cut them out, and glued them to a piece of construction paper in the shape of a C.  Next we had the days of the week with what the catipilar ate each day.  Last we had butterfly craft, we used our hand prints to make butterflies. 

Now the days of the week are conveniently on my kitchen wall, along with a little bit about what is going on that day.

On monday, we made pretzels and made our names.. E wasn't overly happy becuase he wanted to make different letters.  But I made him do his name.. Next time we will do whatever letters he wants.  lthough they were ok, I didn't really think they tasted like Pretzels.. but thought they may make good soft breadsticks with a little garlic on them.   Either way the boys really enjoyed making them, exspecially playing iwth the dough after it had risen.

Crafty Decorations

First off I must say that I love   www.familyfun.go.com.   I found this site a while ago, but visited it again around Halloween and found lots of cute decorating Ideas (don't remember if  I posted them here or not, but they where pretty cute)

So I decided to look at Christmas decorations and other craft Idea's.  Their is just so much.. So much that I want to do, So much that is just to darn cute.  Today we did our first Crafty Christmas decoration on the slidding glass window in the back.

We painted the window.
to make the paint you grate one bar of soap (ivory)  than add One cup of luke warm water and mix with a mixer on low until mixed together, and than on high until it forms soft peaks.  (see link for complete instructions)  The boys helped until the tried to paint the whole window and then I took over and finished it.

I just hope it dries ok, this is the third layer of soap/paint adn so far it has dried link of opaque so I'm hoping it will stay dark now (the white parts, the colors have always stayed pretty dark)

Their is other things that I would like to do this is also on my list

The Letter E

So I know I haven't talked much about our crafts and Letters. so i thought i should fill you in. for the last few days we have been doing the Letter E. We started with Dying crushed egg shells (we had cleaned and saved them) and we made egg letters on our poster board. don't know if you can tell E's is all blue, and B changed it up by using different colors for differnt sections of the letter. The next craft was elephants. we colored, cut, and glued a elephant. Lastly we talked about humpty dumpty. I found the nursery rythme on line with some pictures. i cut out the picture, and we said the rythme and then put them in order. finally the boys glued the pictures to the board.
